OUR INN – a word from the General Manager
When I started at the Inn at False Creek in the Summer of 1987 we had just acquired the “Quality Inn” franchise. We then became known as Quality Inn at False Creek, later to become Quality Hotel – “The Inn at False Creek”. Built in the early 70’s as a 3 storey, 87 room motel (“Venture Inn”), the building acquired 3 more floors in 1985 and the Inn at False Creek welcomed the World to Expo 86.
In the 5 months May 2 to October 13, 1986, Vancouver – Canada, strutted its stuff! False Creek is a charming inlet off English Bay (and the Pacific Ocean beyond) and was the setting for World Expo 86, an event that also celebrated Vancouver’s 100th Anniversary. Today, False Creek is a premier downtown location for living and working. Every June, False Creek hosts the Dragon Boat festival. Granville Island, a colourful Farmers Market, is open 7 days a week. Catch the Aquabus just steps from the hotel and be on Granville Island in 2 minutes.
Much has happened at the Hotel and in the False Creek area in the last 20 years. In 1995, the Quality Inn at False Creek underwent a major renovation to the lobby and restaurant areas. Rooms on the upper 3 levels were modernized with new washrooms and furnishings. Minor changes were made in 2000. In early 2007, hotel rooms were refurbished with new carpets and wallpaper, draperies, new furniture and pictures. Rooms facing the street had new sound-proofed windows. We’re almost ready for the 2010 Winter Olympics, coming to Vancouver and Whistler February 11th – 28th!
Our neighbourhood now boasts beautiful new hi-rise condominiums all around the north shore of False Creek and historic Yaletown with its mix of commercial offices, fine restaurants and residences. Walk down to False Creek and scenic English Bay is minutes away. The Vancouver Museum and Vancouver Planetarium are a 20 minute walk from the south shore of Granville Island or a 10 minute Aquabus ride that stops in Vanier Park. And don’t forget we are only a 20 minute walk to theatres, shopping and world-class restaurants in downtown Vancouver.
Whatever your reasons for visiting, be assured that our very friendly staff, half of whom have been with the Inn for over 10 years, stand ready to assist in whatever way we can to make your stay comfortable and rewarding.
This video has some interesting history of the area.

Stretching Excercises and Healthy Living
WE BELIEVE SO!!!
On February 25th and 27th, 2008 a Fitness World instructor came and demonstrated to staff at Quality Hotel stretching exercises to prevent workplace injury and promote good posture. All attendees at the 1½ long seminar were given a Body Fat assessment test. He also took questions on diet and general health matters.
Staff left the classes happy and eager to incorporate these exercises into their daily routine and to lead healthier lives.
